Mount Vernon Baptist Church and its members have a long and rich history of service to the least, the less, and the lost. For generations, this church has stood as a spiritual anchor in Atlanta, committed to biblical truth, faithful preaching, meaningful worship, and compassionate service.
We believe that as baptized believers in Jesus Christ, there should always be a standard in our lives that demonstrates itself in our worship, fellowship, and stewardship. We should always love one another and be ready at all times to present the plan of salvation to those who have never accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
We also believe that we, the Church, should never neglect our responsibility given by Jesus Christ to be sensitive and supportive to the lost, less, and least of them. And we believe that the Holy Bible is without error, God’s inspired Word, in which we should always live and govern ourselves by.
At Mount Vernon, faith is not limited to Sunday. It is lived daily through prayer, discipleship, service, outreach, and fellowship. The church continues to build believers, strengthen families, support the community, and create opportunities for every generation to grow in Christ.
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people”
1 Peter 2:9
That calling continues to shape the identity of Mount Vernon Baptist Church today.
